Jamesetta Hawkins (January 25, 1938 – January 20, 2012), known professionally as Etta James, was an American singer who performed in various genres, including gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, rock and roll, and soul. Starting her career in 1954, she gained fame with hits such as "The Wallflower", "At Last", "Tell Mama", "Something's Got a Hold on Me", and "I'd Rather Go Blind". She faced a number of personal problems, including heroin addiction, severe physical abuse, and incarceration, before making a musical comeback in the late 1980s with the album Seven Year Itch .

For anyone out there with a old soul going through life... I hope that etta James makes your day like she does to us .

I've been lovin' you too long

To stop now

You were tired

And you want to be free

My love is growing stronger

As you become a habit to me

I've been lovin' you

Way too long

I don't wanna stop now

With you, my life

Has been so wonderful

I can't, I can't stop now

You were tired and your love is growing cold

My love is growing stronger

As our affair, our affair grows old

I've been lovin' you--

Hey--

A little too long

I don't wanna stop now

I've been lovin' you

A little too long

I don't wanna, I don't wanna stop now

Oh, don't make me stop now

Please don't make, don't make me stop now

I love you I love you I love you, oh, don't make me stop now

Don't make me stop now

Please baby don't make me

Don't make me stop now, I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna stop now

I've been lovin' you too long

I don't wanna stop now
