Elmore James was a singer, songwriter, guitar player and producer of blues music.

Sometimes known as the king of the slide guitar, James who played a modified hollow body guitar through an amp turned up to max volume was undeniably a favorite of dance halls, clubs and festivals.
His influences included Robert Johnson and Tampa Red.
Elmore was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
