The Band were a roots rock group formed by incredible gifted musicians. Levon Helm,Richard Manuel,Rick Danko,Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson created a unique genre of music with elements of folk and traditional blues. 
"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is a clear example of this,and really a masterpiece...
